Why Is My Salt Water Pool Cloudy – Hi, I had a problem with muddy water, so I tried a lot of things based on recommendations from local stores that tested the water. My initial problem was that the water contained copper and I bought a product called Pool Magnet plus. My levels are finally back to normal. I heard it has a low alkalinity and a low pH. I was told to shock the pool with liquid chlorine and the next day there was organic matter at the bottom of the pool. I sucked it till I wasted.
Then I was told to use a Balance Pak (alkadjster) to increase alkalinity. I took it apart 3 times to get rid of it. This made the water very cloudy (milky white). Then I tried flossing which didn’t work and was told to make the water more cloudy/muddy. Then I hit it again with liquid chlorine and it’s still the same. I’m hesitant to keep trying the other things you suggest. After watching one of your videos I now know it could be our sand filter. I don’t even know when was the last time it was replaced. So, I will try this.
