I have a refrigerator with plastic shelves that first cracked and then cracked again. With money tight, and apparently replacements not too easy to find, I wanted to see if I could fix it.
To repair complex cracks, I used a generous amount of PVC cement (I think this is for repairing plastic pipes) on the opposite edges and layered on the joints. This gives the shelf enough strength to support its own weight when held from the sides.

Is it enough to return the PVC cement to the materials freezer (and possibly split the shelf!) to return it to the active shelf? I’m thinking of drilling and plating over the crack; but I’m not sure how the plastic would hold up to drilling, especially if it’s relatively close to a crack.
No glue work, only the edges of the plastic shelf are touched to withstand all use. Nailed it with PVC pipe cement and it was amazing. Apparently the pipe cement solvent you used was able to temporarily melt the edges of the plastic, making it stick together.
Some extra work is required to make it work after the fix. Find a glue that actually sticks to this plastic, and use that to attach the metal crossbar to the underside of the shelf surface. A few 1.5″ wide (~38mm) and 0.25″ thick (~6-7mm) aluminum strips will span the full width of the shelf. I would recommend three of these bars.
It looks like the lower shelf ridges need to use adhesive that can fill in the gaps. I do not recommend sanding these ridges to fit the suggested crossbars. I also don’t recommend drilling holes and using fasteners to attach the rods. This creates localized pressure points in the plastic that can cause the drilled hole to break.
