I was recently asked to do a podcast with journalist Alex Beard. The podcast was called The Honesty Box, and I was brought in to answer questions

For what? Because it is very difficult to get answers to such questions. They are prohibited. No one chooses to be sad. And so, the idea that one can be angry at a grieving person is considered cruel, unfair and unacceptable.

Such questions often involve guilt, shame, and heightened emotions on all sides. But this question must be answered, and rightly so, because these are questions that people live with but are afraid to ask for fear of judgment.

When we don’t ask these questions and/or don’t get answers, the anger we harbor doesn’t go away, it’s reinforced by turning to self-criticism and shame.
