The most useful for the reader is the anti-reflection coating with 1.8% reflectance and 500 nits of brightness. There’s also TrueTone, which changes the color of the display as the ambient light changes, so the on-screen image looks the same in different lighting.

A premium version of the Paperwhite, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition adds automatic adaptive lighting that changes based on local lighting conditions.
Paperwhite uses a touchscreen display. It is useful for navigating menus, purchasing content and turning pages while reading a book. There are also tap-to-change font size gestures, such as swipe and pinch.
Apple offers iPad mini in 64 GB and 256 GB capacities to accommodate almost any digital life. Of course, this includes apps, documents, photos, videos, and e-books.

Amazon says the Kindle Paperwhite will cost 8GB, enough to hold “thousands of books.” That may seem ridiculously small compared to the smallest model of the iPad mini, but it makes sense.
The main text ebook files are small, so you can load a lot of content without worrying too much about storage. The worst case scenario is to use that storage for audiobooks, because you won’t use it for photos or videos or even apps.
If you need more storage, you can opt for the 32 GB Paperwhite Signature Edition.
According to Apple, the iPad mini’s battery can last up to 10 hours while surfing the web or watching videos over Wi-Fi, but drops to 9 hours using a cellular connection.

Amazon says the Paperwhite can last up to 10 weeks on a single charge, “when read for 30 minutes per day with wireless off.” Total usage time over 10 weeks was calculated at 35 hours, which does not consider standby power consumption.
And that’s before considering that Wi-Fi isn’t included in the claimed battery life. Obviously, using it this way puts a lot of strain on the Paperwhite, but I wouldn’t use it to surf the web for hours on end.
Amazon says it can be charged for 5 hours using USB by a computer, and a 9W USB power adapter can be used for a maximum charge of 2.5 hours.
The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition adds wireless charging, a feature not available on the standard Paperwhite or iPad mini.

Both the iPad mini and Kindle Paperwhite have USB-C connections for charging and can be connected directly to a Mac or PC for data transfer. iPad mini can use the same connection for other USB-C hardware such as camera and storage.

All devices support Bluetooth, but Apple says support for Bluetooth 5.0 directly, while Amazon says support exists.
Apple equipped the iPad mini with stereo speakers on the top and bottom of the tablet to provide clear stereo separation when used in landscape orientation.

IPad mini has a 12-megapixel wide camera with 4K 60fps recording on the back and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the front. They can be used for taking pictures, recording videos, making video calls and other tasks outside of the Kindle Paperwhite functionality.
Such comparisons usually discuss the different performance levels of the two devices. This usually involves a showdown based on benchmark results, but that’s not an option here.
